A diagnosis of HIV can be frightening and overwhelming. Mālama Pono Health Services (MPHS) is here to help individuals and their families understand and cope with HIV.

The information, services, and financial assistance we provide can help people with HIV live longer, healthier lives and make more informed choices about their treatment.  If after reading the list of services offered you would like to be screened for eligibility, call 808/ 246.9577 and ask for an “Eligibility Assessment Appointment.”

Case Management

Our HIV/AIDS case management team assesses each person’s situation and needs, then develops a plan to assist the client in obtaining essential medical, social and supportive services, such as:

  • Counseling
  • Food Pantry Access
  • Food Stamps
  • Home Health Services
  • Housing
  • Insurance Application Assistance
  • Medicaid or Medicare Application Assistance
  • Social Security Benefits
  • Social Security Disability Income
  • Temporary Disability Income

Client Service Funds

Limited financial assistance is available to eligible clients to help obtain or maintain access to primary health care, prescription medications not covered by insurance, nutritional support, stable housing, and other items needed to maintain your health.  If you are HIV positive and are enrolled in our programs, you may be able to access limited financial supports.

Treatment Information

We provide current, relevant treatment information to clients and health care professionals throughout the year via newsletters, workshops, 1-on-1 counseling sessions, and conferences.
